Clinical Trials

Clinical trials are research studies conducted with human participants to evaluate the safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetics of a new drug or treatment.

These trials are typically conducted in multiple phases:

  • Phase I tests safety and dosage
  • Phase II assesses efficacy and side effects
  • Phase III compares the new treatment to existing standards
  • Phase IV occurs after FDA approval to monitor long-term effects
